Cavalcade 2002 was a hugely successful and fun week with 105 riders and wagoners.

Nearly all the participants are rebooking for this years event, so we suggest people book early to secure their place on the next ride.

General Information

* From your nominated departure point you will have four days of riding through some of New Zealands finest scenery, and three nights camping out in the wild high country courtesy of a selection of generous land owners.

* The final night of the adventure is spent in the Alpine Resort village of Hanmer Springs. You will soak in the famous Hot Pools, dine on a sumptuous spit roast dinner, and enjoy "rocking and rolling" the night away to live country music from a top artist.

* On Sunday morning many Hanmer Springs food business operators will provide you with a great selection of breakfast options, and Montana Winery will provide a glass of their premium champagne just to finish off your perfect week.

* There will be wood-chopping displays, a craft market, novelty events, raffles, chocolate wheel, and our local "Xmas Street Parade" all between 10am and 3.00pm Sunday. A real fun weekend for all the family.

* All you need are a fit horse, a fit body, a sense of adventure, and the desire to have a great time.

* Places are limited to 50 riders and 4 wagons/buggies on each leg of the journey.

* Partners, friends, family are welcome to join the weekends festivities in Hanmer Springs. Additional tickets for Spit Roast Dinner, Thermal Pools, Saturday night concert and Sunday Champagne breakfast are available from the Hanmer Information Centre or the Hanmer Springs Business Association.
