Hanmer Springs – the real New Zealand – 90 minutes north of Christchurch.
Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa is situated on Crown reserve land, with the management rights vested with the Hurunui District Council.
In 1989, a committee was formed to govern Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa.
The committee includes the following current members:

Graeme Abbot is the General Manager of the Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa and reports to the Committee. The Hurunui District Council receives a monthly management report with financial and statistical information.
The Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools & Spa and the Hurunui Visitors Centre are responsible to Graeme Abbot.

Graeme Abbot
Graeme Abbot was appointed General Manager of the Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve in 1999.
Graeme has strong interests in the Hanmer Springs community. He is active in the Hanmer Springs Business Association and Medical Centre as well as trustee of the Hanmer Springs Community Trust.
Prior to joining Hanmer Springs Thermal Reserve, Graeme was the sponsorship manager of Canterbury of New Zealand and has held several managerial positions, including General Manager, within LWR Underwear Ltd.
Graeme is also a board member of Canterbury Hockey.
