New Zealand businesses are being invited to partner with the 18 Great Rides under Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trail (NZCT) and market themselves to the world.
The New Zealand Cycle Trail has just launched its prospectus for 2012 NZCT Product Directory.
NZCT Programme Manager John Dunn says the new directory will promote the Great Rides and their partner businesses to a wide range of international tourism agents, wholesalers and media in advance of the Tourism Rendezvous New Zealand (TRENZ) trade show being held in Queenstown in May. “More than 200 travel and tourism buyers from New Zealand’s major visitor markets are expected to attend TRENZ, New Zealand’s largest tourism trade show,” Mr Dunn says. “While they are here they will negotiate contracts with tourism operators for the forthcoming tourism seasons and this will provide an excellent opportunity for business from around New Zealand to market themselves alongside the cycle trails.”
“The construction of the cycle trails is progressing quickly,” Mr Dunn says.
“Three Great Rides have now been fully completed and opened, including the St James Cycle Trail (Hanmer Springs), the Waikato River Trails and the Dun Mountain Trail (Nelson). Construction on the remaining Great Rides is also well underway with12 of these Great Rides already having sections that are open and in use.
The Product Directory of New Zealand’s premium cycling experiences will include: Cycle trail information: location, terrain type, trail length, likely completion date and trail highlights for each of the 18 Great Rides funded under Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trail and the ever popular Otago Central Rail Trail.
Comprehensive product information: for businesses offering cycling itineraries, tours, accommodation, transport and other visitor experiences that are able to be pre-booked by international tour wholesalers and agents including offering commissions – these products must relate directly to the 18 Great Rides under Nga Haerenga, The New Zealand Cycle Trail and the Otago Central Rail Trail.
The NZCT 2012 Product Directory is open only to Official Partners of the 18 Great Rides and the Otago Central Rail Trail. Background information on how to join the Official Partner programme and a copy of the prospectus for the NZCT 2012 Product Directory is available on the NZCT website at www.nzcycletrail.com .
